Mahsa is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). She provides counselling to youth, individuals and couples.

Mahsa has extensive work experience supporting clients with diverse backgrounds facing a variety of mental health challenges, grief and loss, relationship issues, immigration challenges, parenting, addiction, trauma, and domestic violence.

She is a trauma-informed counsellor trained in a variety of modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Satir Transformational Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Gottman Couples Therapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy and EMDR.

Mahsa has specialized training in couples counselling and is deeply passionate about individual and relationship therapy, where she empowers her clients to explore ways to thrive individually and in their relationships. Her approach to counselling is rooted in the Satir Transformational Systemic Therapy, which emphasizes open communication, self-awareness, and holistic healing.

Mahsa also offers Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, which is an effective treatment for processing trauma, stress, anxiety, difficult emotions and other mental health issues. EMDR can help you reframe difficult memories and improve emotional well-being. Mahsa offers EMDR both in person and virtually.

Shanna Hickey (she/her) is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). She holds a post-Master’s Diploma in Couples and Family Therapy and a post-graduate certificate in Victimology.

As an ally, Shanna has had the opportunity to offer culturally safe, trauma-informed support to various populations. In her practice, she strives to create a safe and supportive environment where clients feel empowered to explore their experiences, heal, and thrive. Shanna has extensive experience working with a range of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, interpersonal conflict, marital issues, trauma, co-occurring mental health diagnoses, addiction, and grief and loss.

Using a variety of therapeutic modalities. She places particular emphasis on Systemic Family Therapy, Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. Depending on your unique needs, she may also incorporate elements of attachment theory, play, and other healing modalities that resonate with your journey.

Having worked with adults, youth, and children, Shanna is dedicated to meeting you where you are and walking alongside you on your path to healing. She is deeply committed to supporting individuals and families.

Kristen is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BCACC and has graduated with her Master’s in Counselling Psychology. She uses a variety of therapeutic modalities such as Client-Centered Therapy, Adlerian Psychology, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, and EMDR. Kristen works with adults, youth, and couples dealing with a wide array of challenges including anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, stress management, trauma, interpersonal conflict, anger, addiction, grief and loss, and relationship issues. Together we will discuss your goals and come up with a treatment plan to reach those goals that best suits your needs.

Please note: Kristen will be going on a brief Mat leave beginning in late June. New clients are still welcome to schedule in however those who are concerned about the timeline are encouraged to schedule in with one of our other experienced Counsellors.

Tahereh is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) and holds a Master’s Degree in both Clinical Psychology and Neuroscience. These qualifications equip her with a comprehensive understanding of mental health from both psychological and neurobiological standpoints, allowing her to provide holistic support to her clients.

Her integrative approach draws from various therapeutic modalities, but she places particular emphasis on attachment theory and emotion-focused therapy. She helps individuals navigate a wide range of challenges including relational challenges, depression, anxiety, unhealed trauma, or other emotional struggles. She tailors her therapeutic interventions to meet each client’s unique needs.

Emily utilizes a variety of therapeutic approaches such as dialectical behavioural therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, emotion focused family therapy, accelerated experiential dynamic psychotherapy, somatic based therapies, and elements of internal family systems. Emily specializes in working with youth and young adults. She is available to see clients who are 11 years old and up- including individuals, couples, and families.

Emily has experience supporting individuals to process and build coping skills with anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, self-harm, personality disorders, family and relational conflict, and attachment ruptures. Emily works to build an environment of safety and works from a trauma and attachment-informed lens.

Kristin is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BCACC (#22812). She has experience working with adolescents, adults, and seniors who are experiencing various presenting issues such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, grief, and neurological disorders such as schizophrenia. Kristin also works with couples helping them work through challenges in their relationships and providing insight into how they communicate.

Kristin uses trauma informed Narrative, Adlerian, and Feminist approaches to analyze the personal and cultural factors of a client’s life. She also uses approaches like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to tackle more objective and short term issues. Munir Velji (He/Him/His) is both a Registered Clinical Counsellor and a Registered Social Worker. Having worked with people for 29 years and in many areas of counselling including mental health, substance misuse, crisis management and relationships, he has learned that everyone has resilience and inner strengths. He is comfortable working with adolescents, families, couples, adults and BIPOC/Indigenous people. He is client centred and utilizes many modalities including CBT, Family Systems, and Brief Solution Focused Therapy.
